Day Ten: Wassail
Arranged to meet Emma at the Community Farm for the Wassail.
Wassailing is a pagan tradition of blessing the orchards. And I can tell you that it works. Emma had got a couple of bottles of the farm’s own organic cider in, and it was probably the best I’ve ever tasted.
There was lots going on: songs, dancing, cakes donated by the volunteers, and a workshop to create your own wassail crown.
Yesterday’s post was all about escaping the English winter. Today felt more like embracing it.
